What does it mean? 

The often clear liquid that lies above the solid after centrifugation, precipitation, crystallization or settling. The solid forms a pellet at the bottom.

How do I use it in a sentence?

“After centrifuging cells for 5 minutes, gently remove supernatant, ensuring to not disturb the cell pellet at the bottom of the tube.”
